Beaching
Photos taken on the private beach in front of our hotel. We used the underwater camera for most!
Dolphin Cove
Dolphin Cove is a natural cove surrounded by 5 acres of lush tropical rain forest. We were able to swim with the dolphins, pet and hold sting rays and walk through their "jungle".
Horseback Riding
Horseback riding through the old plantations, onto the beach, and then through the cove.
Hotel Gardenside
The garden-side of the hotel features a perfectly groomed lawn with Poinciana trees dangling papasans perfect for napping. Stone paths lead into a jungle-like garden with hidden hot-tub gazebos and an aviary. We visited the aviary several times, chatting with the parrots and rescuing a chick that kept getting out of his pen.
Hotel Oceanside
Photos from our wanderings around the hotel during the day and in the quiet evenings
Scuba
The hotel offered a free scuba clinic which included about an hour long talk, then an hour diving in the pool and then a half an hour, 40-foot dive to a shipwreck right off the coast.
Dunn's River Falls
Dunn's River Falls is unique. Described as a living and growing phenomenon, it continuously regenerates itself from deposits of travertine rock, the result of precipitation of calcium carbonate from the river, as it flows over the falls. The small dome-shaped cataracts are usually associated with thermal spring activity found in limestone caves. This, combined with its location near to the sea, gives Dunn's River the distinction of being the only one of its kind in the Caribbean, if not the world.
Snorkeling
The hotel offered a free scuba clinic which included about an hour long talk, then an hour diving in the pool and then a half an hour, 40-foot dive to a shipwreck right off the coast.
Roadside
Most photos taken from a moving vehicle to and from our various destinations of the people, countryside and homes.
