We got our AFP blood panel results back and everything looks normal so we're opting at this point to not do an amnio. I'm so relieved, on both accounts-healthy baby and I don't have to have a giant needled inserted into my belly.
I also had another ultrasound today! I went in just to have something checked out and the doctor went to listen to the heartbeat but couldn't find it (which makes me feel better that I can't find it on our little $25 home doppler either) so she did an ultrasound.
And there she* is, posing for us! If you can't see it, that's the head on the left, with his/her face turned away, and her arm under her head.
* For the purpose of this paragraph, the baby will be a she, though we still won't know the gender until next week.
