The first time I felt her kick was actually before Christmas. I was still wearing my regular jeans, sitting at my desk, leaning slightly forward and I felt this very distinct little PUNT to my insides, immediately followed by a series of flutters. I ran around the office telling everyone that I had just felt my baby kick for the very first time. It was an amazing feeling. That was in my 14th week. On Christmas day I felt all kinds of flutters again, then for weeks after, I felt very little.
The Sunday day before our last ultrasound, I wore my regular jeans again (instead of the roomier, comfy maternity jeans) and I felt her bouncing around in there ALL day long. It was the first time I'd felt her that consistently and it was strange and wonderful. At first I really only could feel her when I wore those tighter clothes, but now it doesn't matter as much and I've been feeling her moving on a regular basis. Some days she's more active than others, but its getting more and more consistent as the weeks pass.
Its such a strange sensation, and as much as I love feeling her moving around, there are times when I just want to shout, "Settle down in there!" It can be quite distracting, especially when she catches me off guard and I either jump, gasp or giggle.
There was a day last week where I swear she was trying to kill my ovary, perhaps ensuring she'd be an only child. That was not a pleasant sensation by any means.
As of yet, Tim hasn't been able to feel them yet but I'm sure that's only a few short weeks away!!! She's getting STRONG!
