So today I turned forty. Yup, 40 and pregnant.

And no, I'm not freaking out about it, at least not the turning 40 part. Its just not something I'd ever thought I'd hear myself say, certainly not how I saw myself doing this. But it is what it is and I have no regrets about the timing of any of it.

I was feeling pretty damn good, up until yesterday when the back pain kicked in. Last night no matter what I did I could not get comfortable. On the couch, I would shift from left side to right side, to laying flat on my back, to sitting up, leaning forward, etc. Nothing relieved the constant ache in back (mid to upper back, around the rib cage). I stretched, I twisted, I arched.  No relief. Sleeping wasn't much better, but I managed to sleep with about the same amount of tossing and turning as any other night. This morning it was considerably better, but as the day progresses its getting worse. I'm guessing by this evening it will be about the same as it was last night.

I'm going to start walking to work (as long as the clear weather holds), and doing more yoga and stretching and hope this helps. I've been meaning to work this into my schedule for a while now, I've just been busy, or just lazy. Some days its just really hard to motivate!

(not me in the photo, either)
